Backbends are any yoga pose that creates a gentle arch in the spine and opens the front side of the body. Backbends strengthen the low back and are fantastic for anyone who are on their feet or seated at a desk all day.
This gentle movement practice will teach beginners how to effectively and safely practice several common yoga backbends, along with the use of optional props. This class is also great for older practitioners and anyone who wants a gentle, relaxing practice that focuses on opening the chest and stretching the front side of the body.
You will practice a beginner-friendly lower-impact Warrior 1, Supported Bridge Pose, Fish Pose, Locust Pose, and more.

It's a beautiful practice and lovely instructor but yoga brings up lots of strong emotions to deal with. Having high expections and not being as strong or as flexible as I would like to be takes lots of joy away from the practice itself leaving me feeling not good enough. Is there anything I can do about it to feel better in my imperfect body?

Thanks for this video! But what if I feel tension in my throat after just couple of minutes of this practice? I’m sure that I’m doing it right but it’s really difficult to continue when your throat is so tensed
That is totally natural! No need to continue with it if you feel any discomfort. Over time, you may be able to practice the breath for longer as you get used to working those seldom-used muscles.

Hi, how many times do I do this and for how long?
It depends on when you use Ujjayi! You can use it throughout your physical yoga or meditation practice. Or you can do it for just 30 or 60 seconds and see how you feel :)
